Super Spacer^® Cushion Edge™

Super Spacer® Cushion Edge™ is a flexible, U-shaped, silicone foam tape product used to wrap around and cushion delicate, center-lite art glass. Desiccant-filled with both a pre-applied side and channel adhesive, the structural foam tape product significantly simplifies triple glazed unit production.

Pleasing Aesthetic Appearance
Warm grey color; three additional colors, including gold; smooth matte surface finish; no surface blistering or bubbling; straight-line application with sharp 90° corners.

Spacer Sizes
Super Spacer Cushion Edge is available with either a 3/16” (5mm) or 1/4” (6.5mm) channel and a full range of spacer widths from 1/2” (12.5mm) to 13/16” (20.5mm).

Continuous Packaged Length
For regular insulating-glass production, Super Spacer Cushion Edge is supplied on reels with the continuous packaged length varying depending on the spacer width.

Protective Packaging
To provide desiccant protection, the reels are vacuum-sealed in moisture-proof foil bags and packaged in high-density polyethylene bags. These double-packaged reels are then shipped in recyclable cardboard boxes.

Desiccant Systems
More than 40 percent by spacer weight is desiccant material, and the low-deflection blend primarily consists of 3A molecular-sieve material with a small percentage of silica gel for solvent adsorption.

Standard Colors
The standard Cushion Edge color is a warm grey. The product is available in three additional colors: black, almond and gold. 10,000’ minimum ± 10%.

Custom Options
With large volume orders of more than 50,000 feet (15,000 m) per shipment, Super Spacer Cushion Edge can also be provided in custom colors, sizes, special profiles or lamination options.

Featuring a vapor barrier backing, the product must be used in combination with conventional IG sealants. For sealant compatibility, please reference IG sealants Technical Bulletin RD0018.
