Super U
...the solution for traditional dual
seal applications.
Super U™ is a variation of Edgetech's successful
Super Spacer® that fills the need for a rigid, highly
insulating sealed unit spacer. It's ideal for production
lines that require rigid spacer and for dual seal PIB/Silicone
commercial units for which regular Super Spacer is not
suited. The unique U-shaped design successfully minimizes
the thermal degradation of the metal component that plagues
most other warm edge designs.

The Best of Both Worlds
When the building/replacement specifications call for a
rigid spacing system, you can still get the TrueWARM®
edge benefits of Super Spacer. Super U delivers the benefits
of dual seal PIB/silicone technology with improved thermal
performance. And, because silicone is easily colored, Super
U is available in several standard colors and can be color-matched
to meet your specific application.
Super U Features
Super U is a U-shaped variant of Super Spacer that can incorporate
a small steel spacer in the interior slot. Super U is manufactured
from the same high performance silicone foam and desiccant
matrix as Premium Plus, and it uses the same proprietary
multi layer vapor barrier. The spacer has a pressure sensitive
structural acrylic adhesive preapplied in the groove to
laminate the foam to the rigid metal. The insert spacer
is a 3/16” square steel tube that is also available
through Edgetech.

Spacer Sizes
Super U is available with either a 3/16” (5mm) or 1/4” (6.5mm) channel and a full range of spacer widths from 1/2” (12.5mm) to 13/16” (20.5mm).
Standard Colors
The standard Super U color is a warm grey.
Custom Options
With large volume orders of over 50,000 feet (15,000m) per shipment, Super U can also be provided in custom colors to meet your specifications.
